Tiddlywinks

Children’s Toy Packaging Redesign Project

Tiddlywinks was invented in Victorian Era England during a time of middle class expansion and a shifting importance towards the family. The game is intended for children, as the game is simple and easy to learn, but it has also been popular in bars and at University of Cambridge in the 1950s.

Traditional packaging of Tiddlywinks is highly illustrated and does not stand out among modern style game packaging. My design brings the game into the current day by using bright colors and the motion of gameplay.

My dieline for the package is designed to be efficient in removing wasted space that I found in the packaging of the packaging being sold today. By making my package an approximate 3″ cube, the included game fits nicely within the box without wasted packaging.
