Fragile! Does Not Cut. 2025
This work explores the ideas of danger and beauty in the transformation of the purpose of a kitchen knife. By changing the material, the recognizable shape of a kitchen knife, an object that can cause damage, has been transformed into an object solely of beauty.

Fragile! Does Not Cut. 2025, paper clay and acrylic paint

The entirety of the sculpted knife is painted with chinoiserie inspired patterns, as they recall associations to delicate fine china, which is to be looked at instead of used.

The dimensions of the sculpted knife are true to size, modeled after an 8″ Ginsu knife’s scale and blade shape.
